Within six months, she had built up a small collection and wanted to share the joy of creating with others. In October of the same year, she officially debuted as an “artist.”

Finding Her Own Rhythm Through Embroidery

Each piece begins with a hand-drawn design, then she proceeds with embroidery. Lisa believes flowers are a symbol of happiness, so she often chooses floral motifs.

She hopes that even people who aren’t good at gardening, don’t have time to care for plants, or live in high-rise apartments, can still feel the changing seasons through her accessories.

Her first piece was a pair of embroidered earrings inspired by cotton.

“When I first started thinking about becoming an artist, it was winter, so I asked myself: what flowers bloom this season but aren’t commonly used as motifs?”

Cotton’s soft, fluffy white appearance evokes a sense of being “gently embraced.”

It symbolizes sincere emotions for those we cherish—a modest yet warm flower for the winter season.

“It’s not just about being ‘pretty’—what matters more is the warmth passed on from the hands that made it.”

She’s particularly mindful of whether her creations can convey that “warmth” from the maker. She admitted that the hardest part of creating is discovering her own originality.

Since many embroidery artists already work with floral themes, she spends a lot of time researching to avoid overlap, striving to ensure her creations reflect her unique personality and vision.

2022年4月のごろ、最初はキットを買って説明書どおりに刺繍を始めたが、研究者らしくネットで調べては練習、練習、練習。半年ほどで自分らしい作品が生まれ、10月には正式に「作家」としてデビュー。「誰かと分かち合えるって、すごく幸せ」と語る。

刺繍の中に、自分だけのリズムを見つけました

彼女の作品はすべて、手描きのデザイン画から始まり、丁寧に刺繍される。

特に花をモチーフにするのは「花は人に幸せを運ぶ存在だから」。花を育てる時間や余裕がなくても、高層マンションにお住まいの方でも、飾りを通じて季節を感じてほしいという願いが込められている。

第一作は綿花（コットンフラワー）をテーマにした刺繍のピアスです。冬に作家になる決意をしたこともあり、「冬に咲く花で珍しいモチーフを…」と選んだという。

純白でもふもふした棉の質感は「優しく抱きしめられるような安心感」を与え、「大切な人への思い」が花言葉だと語ってくれた。

「ただ“きれい”だけではなく、手の温もりが伝わってほしいんです」と彼女は言う。

オリジナル性を保つことが最も難しいとも認め、「花モチーフの刺繍作家はたくさんいるので、資料を集めて被らないようにしながら、自分の個性や理念を表現するようにしています」。
