This became a turning point for her — she went on to obtain a childcare license and now works part-time at a nursery school.

Since April this year, she has also been involved in a community project that provides safe spaces for children who are not attending school. Through her embroidery, she now has more opportunities to engage with these children.

“I’m truly glad that I kept going with embroidery,” she says.

Her interests aren’t limited to embroidery. She’s also passionate about natural-material interiors, wooden accessories, houseplants, and charming little items. When she sees something she likes — a plant, a woven basket, a flower, or a piece of clothing — she doesn’t hesitate to buy it on the spot.

それをきっかけに保育士の資格も取得し、現在は保育園でパート勤務もしています。今年4月からは、不登校の子どもたちの居場所づくりの活動にも参加し、刺繍作品を通じて子どもたちと関わる機会が生まれました。

「刺繍を続けてきて、本当によかったなって思います。」
